I do not remember the events in South Bend that you describe. I was there at the time and all I remember was the Guard being called out over neighborhood unrest at a bar (community center). In the late 60's a lot of places were boiling especially Detroit, and the local cops wanted to keep a lid on things and limit the damage. ee.iusb.edu Now that you having decided to roast Jesse Jackson as the next antiChrist, I thought I would chime in WHY ? The guy is a loser and a leach and a self-promotor, but he holds no real authority or sway over current black communities. But of course it is the past and not the present that you want to stir up.
