He'll try to come up with something. From my POV we dodged a bullet with the "government option", which would have destroyed the best health care system in the world. At least now, what we'll get are some superficial changes so he can claim victory. If he would come back with a reasonable proposal, I think he would find support amongst Republicans. I believe we're going to find that the public option is OFF the table while tort reform is ON the table. If done in a thoughtful way I suspect he can get enough Rs on board to get a bill through. Whether it is an improvement in the status quo, we'll see.
