unless it is based only on most recent 30 days.

This is usually the case.
Beddy-bye time, NOW!

Gary & Tech,

Good Evening.

The short interest percent increase data I have is provided by Dial Data Corporation and is supposed to be accurate as of 10/30/97. Best case for all of us is that your data is accurate for the previous month and mine is accurate for the current month. This would imply that the current short interest is 7903 (5099 * 1.55). Which I agree is still incredibly good news!

I quite agree with the comments about the BCMD shorting policy as far as general trading is concerned. However, I do not believe that this rule is strictly followed. I've had experiences where I've been told by other traders that various brokers allowed them to short other non-marginable stocks. I trade using Datek where shorting of BCMD is not allowed (not that I would do it). On the other hand, MFN is marginable and traded near 1 1/4 today.

I don't mean to come across as a naysayer, it just worried me that we had such an increase in the short position in the latest 30 day interval. Given your numbers, I feel better.

Good luck tomorrow. Go BCMD!

Regards,

Rick
