I think it is important to keep perspective on the goods and bads of obama.

On Afghanistan - you know what, I don't have any objection to us being in Afghanistan. Obama always said we should be focusing on Afghanistan so he isn't contradicting himself.

On Van Jones calling Republicans "assholes" - well....I would have no problem calling Van jones an asshole. I have no problem calling pretty much everyone in Obama's inner circle an asshole and I have no problem calling quite a few democrat congresspeople an asshole. And frankly, I wouldn't really be bothered if Cheney called Van Jones an asshole.

Obama talking to our children at school - Well, I guess i wouldn't have been bothered if Bush addressed my son at school. But, considering that I live in a predominantly liberal neighborhood, I imagine that other parents might have bristled at the idea. I think that partisan politics should be kept out of our schools. But considering our overwhelmingly liberal school staff, it definitely sneaks in. I think Obama should tread very lightly here. And I think that future republican presidents should tread lightly too.
