<Higher education and wealth is not required to be religious or to be intelligent.>

Point stands... people without basic needs met have a hard time intellectualizing and planning long term, let along ponder spiritual experience... PERIOD. Your ignorance of these basics is astounding for one who purports to beleive in god.

<Most people in the third world actually aren't starving these days.>

Not worth arguing, but don't forget to throw in repression, squalor, etc... it's well known where Catholic church is expanding... the very poorest areas of Africa. You believe what you want.

<Oh my God, now third worlders are cannibals! Driven by animal instincts. Wow. >

You don't address Maslow's well known point. Suprise? NOT!

<Wow. When third worlders convert to Christianity, they're just doing it cause the church gives them food.>

Do research, then come back. Also tangential to where the church is spreading anyway... but don't that facts get in your way!

<Oh my God. That is a myth and a silly one.>

Yes, as is Jesus burning bush right! LOL

<And you believe this stuff and diss "Bible-thumpers"! Wow, that is hilarious.>

ROFMAO!! You sound like Solon laughing about Jesus walking on water!! What I said was in the East these things are known to happen. We all have our opinions on what is possible, and who can do them.

BTW, do YOU believe Jesus walked on water and burned a bush???

<?? In 1965 the Christian population of Africa was around 25%. In 2002, it was 46% (Miller).>

Yep, as I said.

And in the West, Eastern studies and practices are exploding... Yoga, Qi Gong, Buddhism, etc...

No big deal... natural exchange of information and traditions... although intelligent people are fleeing Dognamtic Christianity in droves... pretty much the bottom line.

<It seems the history of Taoism includes Taoist theocratic states, emporers declaring LaoTse divine and their ancestor, scriptures being ordered destroyed. Gee. >

LOL, guy... you missed the whole point... THERE WAS NO INSTITUTION TO CONTROL like the Catholic Church! Taoism was all over the place, hidden away by sages and monks... there was no central 'church' of taoism... ARE YOU STUPID, or just aren't reading???

If you don't beleive that the Tao te Ching is a good source of information vs the Bible, just say so... it's OK!

<I think the 'dark ages' were simply the normal lot of most of humanity including the ancient Asian civilizations and that Asian cultures are a lot more similar in these respects to ours than you think. >

Yes, you think all sorts of fairy tails!!

<The 'first noble truth' is certainly NOT about "joy or happiness", is it? Its all about suffering. >

Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! You're a hoot. Study up!

< confess not have no personal knowledge of Catholic teachings. >

Right.. don't know your own religions history... but spew all this CRAP about other religions you know EVERN LESS about.

Point stands... in the educated world interest in Christianity is plummeting (has been... Europe is practically secular!) except of course interest in the "Geek Shows" (TV preachers) on US TV is VERY interesting in Europe... as entertainment.

<Oh my God. That is a myth and a silly one. There's absolutely NO evidence Jesus went to India and brought back anything.>

IT is written he went East for 13 years... who knows what he was doing. OTOH many the miracles he is reported to have 'done' aren't unusual in historical lore there.

<There is also no evidence Hindu or Buddhist mystics can bi-locate, disappear, have ESP and telekenisis or any other magic powers. >

Nor is there any "evidence" that Jesus could do anything NOR his desciples do any healings or other miracles right!? LOL

So I hear you saying that "Easterners" are idiots to believe this stuff but YOU aren't.
