"no-growth" demographic profiles"

I know the Japanese and Russians are now "paying" people to have kids. I also know that the U.S. seems to be pretty good on the "demographic profile" thing because we have an endless supply of South Americans and they are very reproductive.

The whole idea seems to be the MORE young workers you can produce the more production you can achieve and the more your constantly increasing elderly population can be supported.

I'm just wondering what the END GAME is for this brilliant economic plan? It doesn't seem to take into account our limited resources. We're already having water shortages all over the world and mass starvation in many parts of it.

What happens when our 6 billion turns into 10 billion and then even 20 billion?

It sort of reminds me of that Star Trek episode where they came upon a planet so crowded that they had to use a lottery to decide which people would be "eliminated" so the balance could be maintained.
