I don't know if I would shun Buffett's advice, he seems to have done ok in the market. Internet stocks are going to be great winners, it is just picking the right ones. I have been thinking about this because I own Seek. Seek, Excite, Yahoo, and Lycos all have search engines, what else, nothing that can't be duplicated by big companies like Microsoft. Maybe two of the four may survive, maybe none. But one thing is for sure, they had better diversify if they want to survive. Who's to say Dec with Alta Vista won't be the darling search engine. These companies have to find a niche, maybe in advertising, but they have to get something that noone else has or poof and they are gone. I personally feel that a few of these four will be bought out.
