You can't do this one online but I think you'll find it useful:

Today a malware by the name of "Personal Antivirus" popped up in a Firefox browser window. It showed several infections, but all of these are false and only an attempt to blackmail me into paying money. I recognized this because I caught "Antivirus 2009" last fall which is similar.

I downloaded, subscribed, and ran PCTools "Spyware Doctor". It found and removed many problems, but did not specifically show "Personal Antivirus". I hope the beast is gone because the other one was so bad that I had to reformat the hard drive to get rid of it.

This incident makes me wonder if Microsoft Live One Care is any good at all. I had recently run a One Care scan and have had its firewall on for some time.

Thanks, I ran them all and came up with zero threats. I also did a Search on my own system and came up with 3 regedit.exe programs, and one prefetch program. All indicated Microsoft as the issuing company so I assume they are good. I am going to delete all but one and I should be good.
