Elroy,

You may have an option within the Monitor's firmware/hardware that allows you to select "WIDE" mode. This DISTORTS everything displayed by STRETCHING a 4:3 image to completely fit a 16:9 monitor. With my Samsung, I can make that choice from the Monitor's MENU/SIZE&POSITION/IMAGE SIZE Then select WIDE rather than AUTO.

I don't do that - I hate the image distortion even though it allows me to display more info on each screen. I'd rather scroll than distort.

But you may wish to opt for the higher resolution. Another option would be to get a PC/Graphics Card which supports 1920x1080 resolution. That's the route I intend to take after Win7 is out and relatively stable.

Ian

Hi Elroy,

Don't mean to butt in, you might try checking your monitor settings. My monitor allows independent settings for positioning windows. Just a suggestion because we don't know your monitor and accompanied software for your situation.

Also windows has a setting for selecting the desktop environment and display properties. To get there right click on your desktop and select Properties, Appearance. You might play with these settings to see if they can help you out.

Best of luck!!
