That's not the issue, seems to me. The issue is creating something even worse to replace it. The first law of holes is that, when in one, you stop digging. And you certainly don't start excavating an even bigger hole.

We can pretty easily fix the immediate problems. We can set up some insurance option for the uninsurable and make insurance portable and permanent so those with insurance don't have to fear losing it. And we can subsidize those who really can't afford insurance by expanding Medicaid. It doesn't have to be complicated or disruptive. We don't have to create a bigger monstrosity.
