SO pragmatist = progressive which equals liberal? Ok if you think McCain is a liberal then we agree. Unfortunately what most liberals think is pragmatic generally doesn't make sense. As recently as the Clinton Administration we still HAD some pragmatism in this Country. Something about democrats spending eight treasonous years trying to defame and destroy our President hardened conservatives hearts. Those that hate cannot expect to be returned love forever. tax breaks for the wealthiest Whose still pay almost all of the income taxes paid. war in Iraq Perhaps human life and dignity mean nothing to you, but being compassionate requires helping people in need. We've seen "pork barrel" politics rise to an art form. Yes the Pelosi / Obama Administration have slapped so much pork out that even pigs are embarrassed. Republicans during their brief stint of controlling the government alone acted like democrats and rightfully got thrown out of control. We've seen a "drug bill" that doesn't try to CUT drug prices but just puts the TAB on the taxpayers bill. It may be the only program in the federal government that has come in under budget every year. It has genuinely helped senior to save money and cut total health care expenditures.
