Good question. This country's business model is to ship jobs overseas to pay less in wages. For jobs that can't be shipped out, both legal and illegal immigrants are allowed in to again pay less in wages.

I don't have an answer, but this is what we have right now, and Washington shows no signs that this will change.

form a "unemployed people of america" bank. UPA will be given loan by FED at 1/2% rate that they can loan out at 6-15% acc to the risk of the buyer. This way you create competition amongst banks & provide employment as well.

I do not have an answer to your question.

I have been wondering for 4 years (well before the crisis) what the source of jobs would be. I argued mightily that Commercial Real Estate would NOT be the answer. I was poo-pooed.

We really do need falling wages and falling prices to be more competitive. Unfortunately the Fed is fighting that tooth and nail.
