Larry E. has previously stated his opinion of NSCP -- that it "will not survive." In light of this view, I do not see ORCL having much interest in NSCP.

IMHO, why take on MSFT on more than one front? Let's see what the gov't can accomplish (not much) with MSFT's defense that IE is merely an extension of the Windows OS. Why would ORCL want to involve itself in this battle? Its best focusing its resources along its current strategies.

Mike,

wasn't Oracle the company that formed some type of JV with Netscape for a project named NAVIO? Too busy to go back to my notes but I think it was about 6-9 months ago. Buying Netscape may be redundant.
