Obama wants to get past racism and put it in the history books, but he knows better.<< Knighty, you think obama wants to put racism in the history books? that's pretty naive - he's one man who lied himself into the oval office (just like his predecessors) who happens to be black. that won't end racism anymore than OJ's walking for murder ended a criminal injustice system that is structurally biased against african americans. so, according to you, democrats get to be rude to their opposition (nazis, unamerican, tea baggers, etc...), but republicans can't be rude or it is racist. using the race card to gain political advantage (exactly as i said!) isn't something i consider to be "righteous." in fact, it adds to the problem of real racism as many just tune out legitimate accusations of racism as being of the same paper thin variety as this one. did the KKK apologize after treating blacks badly? that's right, you don't seem to be able to register that wilson apologized immediately for being rude b/c that's inconsistent with your "big bad racist" theme. if you can't parse all the information, you'll often reach bad conclusions. >>I think the Swiss Bank example is a stretch for your point. The bank is simply faster at coming up with scams than our govt is at catching them.<< Knighty, i believe the government knew and aided and abetted with unreasonably low interest rates and a policy to allow predator lending and to sue anyone (like NY state) when they tried to stop this predatory lending. as for "catching them," what makes you think they want to catch them? MASSIVE SYSTEMIC FRAUD occurred for YEARS and nobody is going to jail. catch them for a beer and dinner maybe - as they sign over the campaign check and a wink and a nod about the $100 million obama makes when he leaves office. >>They've just caught on to the pillaging of German Jews' accounts, so, let's say they are about 64 years behind on taking measures against Swiss crooks.<< pretending doesn't stop the current looting - and the government is a willing co-conspirator. i can't reach any other conclusion. but that's OK, who needs food and service when they can accuse republicans of being racist when they are rude (even if the republican is right).
