Lets see,
We sing the praises of the Groupe Bull announcement this past summer. The final result to date. ZERO sales
We talk of how EDS is a champion of Class 1 FC. Result No orders from EDS
We talk of the superiority of the new switch versuses the competitons switch. Result ZERO sales
We sing the praises of managament. Insider buying lately ZERO
We book 2.8 mill in the first 3 weeks and only come up with 600K more the rest of the quarter.
The next quarter will not be as strong as this one.
We burn 3 mill cash a quarter and have 4 mill on hand.
There will be no significant sales relating to the new switch till some time in 1998 thus giving the competition time to catch up (that is if there is a market for these switches).

I'm sorry folks, I think it is time to move on. FC might be a large market but it doesn't appear to be much for switches. Yes there are many announcements regarding FC but none involve ANCR or FC switches.
There are too many negatives here to continue holding. I'm with you Mike. I gave the company a shot but I have had enough hype. Yes this year was a scorcher. Unfortunately it was the ANCR investor who got scorched. I'll take a look back to see if it is worth buying a year from now but I'm closing out my position in this company. To all who remain long, I wish you luck. My only advice is to stop being cheerleaders and put heat on the company After all, you own it.

I am not being negative, but unfortunately I have to agree with Bob. I too listened to the cc and found it to be quite disheartening. They definitely are going to need more money, no major OEM anouncements until next year at the earliest, no significant sales until around 2nd half of year. It seems that almost anything/everything that would be of major interest to us falls under the category of either being under nda's or forward looking statements. I'm not sure what that policy leaves us to look forward to, except maybe the weather reports from Minnetonka. And we all know that for the next 6 months its gonna be cold up there. I think this baby is dead money for at least 6 -9 months. I know it's an almost all new management team, I don't want slim (or is that slimy?) Steve O'Hara back, but that doesn't lessen the continued disappointment.

I'm kinda upset with myself that I didn't sell out half my position when I got back to even (from doubling down) at 10 1/2 and then buy again when some major positive news was announced. The only positive I can talk myself into is that with the current state of the market, I don't know where I'd put my money .

On a slightly different but related topic ( please save the flames, contrary opinions welcomed) I think this board tends to be too optimistic. I don't remember who said it earlier but the earnings guesstimates have come out, was it 24% too high for a couple of quarters. Now admittedly I'm no genius (woulda sold at 41 if I was), but I've never understood how you guys have arrived at your numbers. Do you all have secret contacts inside?I've also never understood the real value of the earnings guesstimates (aside from the Tshirts and mugs)and think they are self defeating at best.

Thanks for letting me vent.

>Ditto to you & Michael. I sold out most of my position in ANCR at 6 5/8 this morning.

Me to. I had already sold my trading shares due to margin calls.
For some time I had been keeping 10000 shares as my core holding.
Sold 4000 last week from my IRA at 7 7/8 when I saw the market
debacle coming. Had kept my brokerage account shares as my cost
basis was below 5 and wanted to hold for tax reasons. However
this mornings report indicated the rebound in the stock is probably
some time off and there are better places to put my money for now.
So I sold another 4000 at 6 5/8, keeping a couple of thousand as
I still believe the company has good long term potential. Its
just that the short term doesn't seem to justify keeping all my
eggs in that basket any longer.
My biggest mistake was not following Kerry's advice to not buy
a speculative investment like ANCR on margin.

Craig C., I am curious with the number of people capitulating
today does that mean we are near a bottom.
