It occurs to me that Mr. Clock has chosen a lifestyle that suits him for a variety of reasons. So have you, all well and good, we all do what we can. Now you've become concerned about environmental issues and wish to have a parade. Also fine, I like parades (a little). Mr. Clock is apparently less interested in parades, at least today. I'm getting that herded feeling again.

You have unplugged yourself and now say you are free to wash your hands of it because nobody else will change -- that is BS. Change is possible.

I don't see where I made that statement. in fact, I am a local proponent of off grid living. My wife and i try to convince others to follow our ways. We get very positive responses. We buy and drive older cars...our way of recycling. We live more modestly that most folks. We live on an island and if we even fly inter-island once a year it is a big deal.

Maybe it is easier when those you are talking to actually see that you are walking the talk. if Gore would walk the talk then he night get some traction. Participating with hank "the thief" Paulson in locking up the carbon credit trading exchange is not what i call "change". One of his suits costs more than i spend on clothes in a year or two...or more! Does Al really need multiple houses... being larger than his needs merit?

Will an $1,8000/per year/per family tax really "change" anything?
