I go back to the scalability of systems....

in our normal everyday existence we build relationships that have different characteristics. I have some neighbors who I would stand behind if someone were to mess with them. And some neighbors who I would let fend for themselves. I have some neighbors and/or friends who the relationship is more enmeshed and my personal well being is enhanced by their personal well being (think about some of my friends up in san jose, byron and I have worked at 4 companies together, rollin is another person who we both know who is intricately tied to our lives). Even when we may not agree on everything, we will always have each other's backs and we will always look to benefit each other.

Individuals form these types of relationships
Businesses form these types of relationships
and
Nations for these types of relationships.

It is natural. It is what people do. An isolationist policy will kill us. It's incredibly naive. But considering the thing with the China Tariffs, it would be hard to argue against what you are saying.

But he doesn't really believe all of that because his true core belief is that people like him need to be in charge.

All this wealth redistribution malarkey is just a means to his end of being King of the World.
