Baloney: 10,000 years ago cannibilism was pervasive. Until 150 years ago slavery was pervasive. Who were these people who thought all that stuff was OK?? Those people are stil around today they just do other thinks like promote dog fights and racism. In the south most of the people thought slavery was Ok until the north forced them to abandon it in the civil war. Then they they thought black chain gangs were Ok until they were forced to stop that. Then for a hundred years they thought segregation was Ok until they were forced to stop that. Today dog fighting is pervasive around the country until we libertals can stop that. Pure barbarism. All those people without a conscience are still around today supporting equally barbaric ideas, just different ones. Organizing dog fights, endorsing torture, supporting stupid wars and the suspension of habeus corpus, death penality, macvhine guns for kids, hard jail time for pot smokers and every other crack pot idea one can think of. And today we look at all the above things like slavery and segregation and not allowing women to vote with horror. And all the people who could see how wrong all those things were during those days and who stood up against the evil and ignorant people (at great risk) who thought those things were OK: slavery, chain gangs, not allowing women the right to vote, segregation, etc, are seen as heros. And they were mostly liberals who stood up against that barbarism. In the 1970's Sweden outlawed spanking children. In the future all civilized societies will outlaw hiting kids. And in the case of extreme child abuse, and I have seen a lot of it, those parents do not have the right to beat their kids, just because they are their kids. I know that is a liberal idea, so crazy right? The right wingers just defend ignorance and chastise science and like to live in the 16th century and seem unable to learn or behave with basic human decency? And th right wing thinks all science and liberals ideas are jsut plain stupid. Science is stupid. How does one debate a person who thinks that way??
