Yes, there are times. Today was a perfect example of a really good day, and a perfectly awful day later...

The really GOOD part was getting to see and have a long lingering lunch with Neeka and Carolyn. Lovely mid-way spot, lovely location, super food, and great company! If any of you are up this way in Western WA, let us know and maybe we can have another get together.

The Really Bad part was late this afternoon. I've written to all of you about the antics of our two Papilions, Pixie (the white girl with a red head) and Caesar, the Sable pretty boy that KNOWS he is all boy!....

I wrote this to family members tonight:

Our darling little funny girl Pixie died tonight. She dug a small hole under the back fence to see if she could meet the Big Dog that she played with behind the fence barrier, and they both chased with back and forth along the back of our fence for months, never meeting until today....He must have met her as she was coming through, caught her neck, and it killed her.

We called and called, and started scouring the neighborhood to find her as we didn't want her to get in that busy road where Prince was killed by a car. I met the lady behind us, and she let us in their back yard to see if we could find her.

Unfortunately, Hubby did. SO tonight is a very hard night. She really had started to get over her trauma from when she was with the lady and the grandkids that tormented her, and even our son noticed it...she didn't try to bite every time, or even growl -- at least much.

Caesar is looking for her which of course, brings teary eyes from us....

Those little furry creatures really get in your heart and all they do is love you. We felt the same way about her. I have some very funny stories about both of them that I've been writing ....we got her from a sister via her doggies' groomer, on Jan 7, 2006.

Pixie, it was not long you were with us, but at least you had finally realized we loved you, and you were home....

Everyone, Hold your dear people and dear animals extra close....we are all very fragile, even if we think we are tough.

Love,
