Michael: Without doubt other factors are and will be involved in
the ultimate shakeout. How much more unravelling will we see
before real estate, banking, and currency problems in the Pacific
realm find comfort levels that they can live with??? How long
before Brazil devalues their currency(the real), or will they be able to
avoid it??? To what extent will our multi-national corporations,
who sell quite extensively to the Asian , see their bottom line reduced?
How much of the current selling on wall street is attributible to
money managers locking in profits in order to keep their bonuses
at those nice levels?? Those, and many other things will have a
bearing on the ultimate "bottom" and when we reach it. I must
admit that I did some selling on Tuesday BECAUSE I had some
damned good profits, that I didn't want to risk AGAIN( like Monday).
I had taken a good many chips off the table during the year, so
I didn't feel like further exposure to risk after the Monday panic.
I stared buying BORL again at 8.25, but quit at 9. I feel certain
that we will test 8 again. I'm very liquid right now and am awfully glad
about it. Tomorrow and Monday should present some buying
opportunities, but am going to buy slowly. This thing may take
some time.
Luck,
Jack Gibson
PS Michael, how do you get this blasted computer to print the lines
AS I TYPE THEM? Your posts are compact. Mine are shot-gunned
all over the place. Can you tell me how to correct this? Many thanks.

The Market appears to be following my models quite nicely.

RE: Jim Cramer (TheStreet.com) Yahoo Chat Transcript.

chat.yahoo.com
[from Thursday evening...]

Here are a few general market predictions that he gave:

Yahoo_chat asks: What's the outlook for next week?
Jim Cramer: Next week should be weak again, until we get all of the stocks in stronger hands we must wash out the quick buck artists and get more money into the hands of mutual funds

Vik_B asks: What can we expect from the markets (mainly ) Nasdaq over the next 10 days or so ?
Jim Cramer: NASDAQ will also retest

Robertcmavis asks: The '87 one day crash was followed by a brief respite then an upward movement and then a further decline before a gradual improvement. Do you visualize a duplication of that scenario?
Jim Cramer: yes

Odin3 asks: How far do you think the market will drop before it levels?
Jim Cramer: i don't think it will take out Tuesday's lows

Sheldon7 asks: What's your outlook on tech stocks -- long and short term?
Jim Cramer: short term kind a tough, but there will be a year end tech rally

Richsim asks: Mr. Cramer, do you have any feel for when the market sill settle down. Possibly lst qty 98. Your comments sir.
Jim Cramer: No, sooner than that. Actually I am quite bullish for November

Vleal97 asks: Hey Jim, I'm a subscriber to The Street, just wondering, do you agree with Abbey Cohen, that the Dow will reach 10,000 by mid 98?
Jim Cramer: Yes, I am in the AJC camp. She's pretty good

Also, he had a very good comment on margin:

InsiderAGP asks: If the Dow retests it's lows and holds, is it time to margin?
Jim Cramer: margin is for fools. You margin only when you see the whites of the eyes of the speculators or you have a vicious edge
