then i would refer you to this quote in slider's post..

"Officers swear to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” Unlike enlisted personnel, they do not swear to “obey the orders of the president of the United States.”"

if there is no other way to stop the enemies of the constitution other than with the military, then it seems it is their duty to do so. their first duty is to the country, not the men who run it.
