Hi Steve
What is an agency only firm? Is it that you are not a market maker?
<< Yamner & Co., Inc. serves investors and traders with all levels of experience and all investment objectives. Our clients include individual investors and traders, commercial banks, corporations, money managers and investment clubs. Our ongoing commitment to investor education and proper asset allocation ensures client satisfaction at all levels. >> Sounds pretty regular...
WDC is a great company, and is a bargain at this price. Look for them to earn above $3 this year (June 98). The stock is also trading at the historical low P/E range. Top analysts, including Andy Neff, were pounding the table for WDC at $39/share--at $29.44 I think we are looking at a bargain.
Andrew

Steve, good to see you aboard. I've read your thread occasonally and found some good info.

I rode the WDC elevator up, and (sadly) down. No problem as long as I learn not to do it again.

The pattern for WDC on most days recently (except for wild, market driven days) has been a gap up at the opening followed by a fade marked by lower highs and lower lows throughout the day. One of WDC's main head suppliers, APM, has had a similar pattern. Someone was surmising that it was a distribution pattern. Is that correct? Have you noticed a recent change showing accumulation? Someone here noticed a couple of large block buys just before close on Wednesday.

Now, I'm just hoping we don't get too much of a downdraft so that we can find a base and begin moving in the right direction. Good luck.

Steve, what are the technicals that you see on WDC? I figure that we are in a bearish trend by some measures and maybe bullish by others. Is that true? What is the distribution on WDC? Sounds like it is bullish from what you say. Where are the supports? I would figure 27 is a very important support point. Where does this go if we breakdown from 27? I figure WDC could go to a P/E of under 5, does that seem reasonably possible to anyone else? I think we are headed for a DOW of 6300. No guess on NASDAQ. 1200?
