You invested great efforts into making yourself valuable and successful... that IS your business. You didn't get sold on any dreamy egalitarian ideals. You ARE an individualist.

I don't agree that "life's experience" is such a huge determining factor.... not in America. Socio-economic mobility in this country is enormous, even within a single generation.

I don't know you but everything about your posts screams "individualism" to me.

I was not trying to imply that only self-employeds were individualistic. I've known many self-employeds who were not (and many who have failed at their work).

I've also known self-employeds were lacked a shred of individualism who, over time -- often quickly -- developed it.
