Good morning Gus,

Thank you for the directing us to :

almaden.ibm.com

This is an exellent place for miners start. This location delivers the basic education in disk drives and heads. Once we have digested the basics, we attain the rank of miner 2nd class. Then using our new found tools, we are able uncover some juicy morsals (data) relating to KM and POST (where they are found) them for our colleagues to share, we become proven miners, able to hold the rank of miner 1st class. This is self-education and research via the Web at its finest. Ok, everyone have their reading glasses on? Let's go "dig it"!

Again, thank you.

Swamp Fox Charlie

Gus,

Regarding the IBM 5Gb/in2 milestone; Their newest high end notebooks have 3.0 Gb/in2 capacity. Am I to assume that we might
see 5 Gb/in2 later in 98 using AMR w/o KM ? Also, I saw on a post
early this year that temperature instability would result as the
10Gb/in2 mark is approached. If that's the case, might not IBM
continue with their AMR development w/o KM ?
Thanks for all the informative posts.

Regards,

Joe
