I guess, because they basically have some power now (or the illusion of it) the far left is mollified- but they are still out there, they just aren't as energized, because Obama, though he is nowhere near the far left (no matter what certain nests may think) is certainly not a republican.

But the fact that they are not meeting does not make them nonexistant. They are merely quiescent right now- wouldn't you agree? If all their issues were being ignored or something really upset them, they would wake up.

Perhaps we were talking at cross purposes? I didn't think that just because they were not organized they did not "exist". I think you guys care more about a movement- I am merely thinking about individuals on a political continuum.

<<<And then there's the "real stuff" of which Wharfie and I indulge. Says there is absolutely no serious lefty stuff in the US right now. None. Zip. Just four guys/gals in a phone booth on the upper west side in Manhattan.>>>

The neocons have been doing this sort of stuff for decades. They get four guys and a phone book in a room somewhere and calling themselves something grandiose - like The Institute of the American League of Super Patriotic Tea Baggers or some such.
