Boy, that's the truth. A friend of mine recently broke both her arms trying to break a fall. Being overweight didn't help either.

if your starting to go down just go.

That's the key. Relax and let it happen. Try to go to one side and if possible try to sit. If you're in the right position with your knees bent, should happen naturally. I think fighting it is when the broken bones happen.
