He didn't save a single job, both companies went bankrupt. All he did was to prolong the bankruptcy, which would have happened earlier with less government restrictions and a better deal for both companies.

First he provided 'bridge' (hopefully) loans and second they never would have made it out of a standard BK. It would have been so complex they would still be in the process.

He saved them; and in the process saved your ass from a depression.
