I get very little mortgage tax break (standard deduction is higher). And... if it was a slam dunk, I'd own PM shares on actual margin, which would allow me to close out the margin at will.

Yes, I think PM shares will beat the 6-6.5% I'd need to break even (after taxes, accounting for costs).

Last October however showed me that my head could be handed to me.

Heck, chances are there *will* be a rush of people who perceive it as a slam dunk. They will mortgage their homes *and* buy gold and PM shares on margin.

Sort of like 1999 in tech stocks. And 2002-2006 in real estate.

I guess I'm just a singles and doubles hitter <g>
