No doubt that was the root cause. It wasn't for lack of trying to get her help. We finally managed to get her committed for 6 weeks to detox her and get her some psych help. So she was sober for 6 weeks. She was very proud of herself that she'd gotten through it and called my sister to tell her about it adding that she was going to have a little celebration to mark the occasion. My sister asked what she was going to do and she replied, "I'm celebrating right now. I've got a bottle of Jack and am having my first drink to celebrate getting out of that hellhole." And then launched into threats and nasties and how she was going to get even with everyone of us for putting her in that place.
