just in in-tray

player 1: My wife and I own a home in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for 7 years now. We have taken up to 20 flights a year back and forth for various reasons. Imagine our surprise, on the very first flight of the season, at the boarding gate, after showing id for a 3rd time, stood 4 burly CBSA agents, all armed and in uniform, questioning whether we were transporting currency or currency instruments that totalled $10,000.00 or more!!

In perhaps 100 flights back and forth I have never seen this! Of course the country of destination can require a declaration if carrying monetary instruments over $10,000.00. Mexico does.

What astounds me is this, when did Canada implement currency controls? I can't take my money out of the country now?

gate creaks
ceiling shakes
and the crowds begin to agitate
should the words 'inexorable' and 'inevitable' mean anything to us
does the word 'survival imperative' hint at anything?
