Mason, Here's a more direct statement concerning SVGL and 0.18&#181.

On the lithographic front, there is good news and bad news. The good news is that deep-UV will still work for 0.18-micron features, according to most suppliers. "Our Microscan-3 systems are specified for 0.25-micron operation but they are being used at some layers in 0.18-micron processes," reported SVGI vice president of sales and service Steven Jensen.

Mason, Juniper, Ian and All: More notes. The new building at SVGL will be used to add 15 more production bays. This will take SVGL up to 50 bays. They hope to get the cycle time down to three months (current cycle time for MIII's is 44 weeks). This gets them to the 200 machine per year run rate.

The $40 mm Korean DRAM order was booked in the September quarter and is included in the Sept. Q book-to-bill and backlog figures disclosed in the press release and on the conference call.

$0.26 of earnings in the early stages of an industry upcycle seems pretty good to me, especially since the company still has about $13 per share in working capital net of long term debt.

I was encouraged by the White Oak fab's purchase of AVP 8000's announced last week. I have lingering concerns that the delay in the 200 APS will limit its ability to get spec'd in prior to the industry migration to .25 micron. Fortunately, strong results out of either Thermco or Track are not required for SVGI to generate strong profits given the apparent success with the Micrascans.
