Whatever did it, let's hope it is permanent. That Chrome box is just an ad for Google's Chrome browser. It would be unrelated to any redirects. You might give it a try. One always should have more than one browser installed if for no other reason than to check problems reaching websites. Keeps you from wondering if something is wrong with my browser or is the site having problems. I use firefox as default but have Internet Explorer and chrome available.

Warning: This response was hands free using Windows 7 speech recognition. No fingers or keyboards were harmed during this process but if you have any background noise, forget about it. This took about fifteen minutes but with practice it could be done.

I was a piad subscriber of AVG, but when I upgraded to 9, lots of bugs, so I uninstalled it and went to AntiVir Premium. System runs faster without AVG.
