This makes it a much more natural (and positively phrased) occurrance.

On reading that Mercury News article and the prohibition on selling
if acquisition talks were active, perhaps the internal word was

"if you want to sell any shares in the near future, you had
better do it now, as you will be prohibited shortly"?

Just speculation of course, but it is one alternative reason for a bunch of sales in October.
