the nations you mentioned, aside from france, germany and britain, are simply, relative to the figurative invading force enveloping the domains, tiny states, to be picked off simultaneously but separately it would be just mathematics at work

Toronto is the home par excellence of immigrants from countries where the language is not English. Papa and Mama speak little English, or incorrect English. Kids go to school, speak English to their friends. Not much problem. Really. In my university 51% of the students talk a non-English language at home, i.e. to their parents. There is no need to wish anybody away from Canada. The parents of course get lousy jobs as unskilled laborers etc. Or they work for people who speak their language. To summarize, non-English never lasts 2 generations.
