Interesting observation. I have a friend who is a history professor and he is obsessed with Hitler. He maintains that every American Politician emulates Hitler in some ways. He is obviously talking technique not philosophy.

He and I were once involved in a political fundraiser and the politician was lamenting that he could never get the crowd to come to the stage area and focus on the introductions of the pols. I for one did not think this was important, but if you know pols, it is a big ego trip for them. Any way my friend said he would take care of it, but most of us doubted it.

On the night of the event he brought in a bag piper who marched around the huge hall bagpipes blaring and eventually ended up on the stage. He then had an Irish Tenor sing "Danny Boy" (He was excellent). Then the political introductions began.

When the event was over the thrilled Pol spoke to my friend and expressed his gratitude. My friend told him it was out of the Hitler playbook. First time I ever saw a Politician speechless.
