Did the doc test for it Oral? When I was sick back last March and thought I was going to die the doc swabbed my nose and ran a test and said it wasn't the flu, but I don't think they had a test for H1N1 back then, or if they did, I think it was done differently.

Please tell us about your symptoms again, and what you recommend we do if we get it. I've never been paranoid about the flu, but the govt has sufficiently scared me enough to be concerned. I'm not so concerned for myself as I'm in the "safe" category, but I do have a grandchild, and I don't want to give it to him if I get it.

And sorry this happened...........especially during your vacation.

That's how I felt in Sept...after the fever for a couple of days, then very tired for a few weeks....whatever this current stuff is... is just congestion and productive coughing, and very tired with much of an exertion.

What a way for you both to spend a vacation! But then again, the hotel and room service is probably much cheaper than the hospital!
