Roubini didn't ignore the dollar risks; he said it would eventually stabilize. He didn't say how far it would fall first, which is the risk. The fact that the US dollar has devalued about 96% since the Federal Reserve was created doesn't mean it can't fall another 96% <g> It will have value for our lifetimes, I believe, although it may be exchanged (by force) into another currency along the way. The only zero outcome would be a result of a wasteland following a nuclear war, and there's no point in me betting that will happen. In the near term, say the next 15 years, I expect the dollar to lose between 10 and 40% more relative to a basket of currencies (most all diluting themselves along the way). I expect it to lose 50-90% relative to gold within that time frame.
