Most of the area in what is NY-23 has not been represented by a Democrat since the 19th century. A large portion -- including the largest city, Watertown — has not been represented by a Democrat since the 1850's. In parts of the district, the last non-Republican Representative was a Whig Granted, there are some big words in that article...
