Thanks for posting the report. It leaves them many opp.'s to raise the rating and jump on the bandwagon. They even admit that gross margins will increase as the year goes on. I just would like to think that a lot of the negative possiblilites are already factored into the stock price and will upgrage soon.

I see room for an upgrade after the conference on Monday...MS will
attend. Notice they say they will upgrade if they find new information. That will happen Monday...

Rustam <<-Cymer's recent orders, its backlog, and six month forecast from its customers
suggest that our thesis is incorrect. In fact, the company fully expects to grow
sequentially in each of the next two quarters (i.e., 130+ and 135+ units in F4Q97 and
F1Q98, respectively versus our estimates of 110 units in each quarter). Based on
Cymer's outstanding manufacturing execution over the past year, we believe the
cdompany can easily execute its plan.>>

Cymer's information suggests that their information is incorrect. why doesn't this particular analyst simply believe the industry leader instead of his own data which was based on material which was wrong to start with?

Thanks for the post.I was having trouble understanding what the bears have against Cymer. They may be right, but it seems like there is a lot of guesswork involved .It sounds like most of the objections are short term ones. I'm a long term investor, but I learned long ago not to average down, and to cut losses quickly. Unfortunately, I haven't followed my own rules with CYMI, and am paying the price. OTOH, once all the brokers become bulls again it will be too late to buy.
