Certainly. I think Timothy McVeigh was a terrorist. Fortunately, he and his accomplice (the name escapes me) did not find much of following.

There are far more Tim McVeigh types in the US than there are Muslim terrorists. Hell the tea baggers are right on the edge.

Plus I don't see anyone making excuses for McVeigh, wondering if he was bullied or disillusioned or desparate.

We do hear those excuses offered up for Hasan. We heard excuses offered for Ayers and Dohrn, too - as in maybe they helped end the war.
