Tim, > The majority opinion perhaps, but far from a consensus.

Liberals love to declare a "consensus" by omitting dissent.

The "consensus" is that CO2 is warming the globe, despite temperatures dropping slightly over the past ten years.

The "consensus" is that an economic stimulus was needed, despite the fact that Obama's big giveaway to the Democrats didn't "create or save" that many jobs.

The "consensus" is that the GOP is finished, despite victories in NJ and VA.

When you see a liberal declare a "consensus," you know you have them cornered ... ;-)

"The majority opinion perhaps, but far from a consensus."

Tim, consensus doesn't mean 100% agreement. In the case of the stimulus, when you have even Chicago School economists talking favorably about a stimulus, that is about as close to a consensus as you are going to get in economics.
