There is too much evidence that history is made, not a clock work mechanism. A clockwork is a mis statement of your position, of course. Look at Donald Tsang defending the HK dollar against foreign speculators - that confounds the inevitability the clock work. Look at the end of the Berlin Wall. Look at Argentina screwing up their economy multiple times, contrast with South Korea, with far less resources and military threats from the deranged Kim Jong Ill. Contrast it to Chile, next to Argentina.
