Full privileges and a grest ride and outing? sounds like a smart fellow.

there are surveyers here who still earn more than their money... walking over hills and through brambles trying to locate the certain rock that marked a corner.

Reminds me of a story from when I was in. I golfed with this older guy every weekend when we were in Norfolk. He was old enough I just thought he was retired. I'm a 23 year old E-5 so everyone was old:) Anyhow we never discussed rank or anything on the golf course. I mentioned that I was leaving in a couple of weeks for a Med run and he said he was going to be in the med also and perhaps if we were in port at the same time we could work that out for a round of golf. I told him the name of my boat and off we went. About 3 months later we are in Naples and I'm below working as it's my duty day and I hear the announcement of Admiral, United States Navy arriving. Don't give it any thought. The duty officer and CO of course are scrambling topside to see what's up. Next over the 1MC I hear, Petty Officer Roberts report topside. I think well that's odd but off I go. So I come up through the weapons shipping hatch and don my hat and look and there is Bill. I said hey Bill, whoa Admiral. So I snap to attention and salute, he returns it and says hey, you have time to play a round of golf today. I said well I can't as I have duty today. CO interrupts and said Petty Officer Roberts would be happy to play golf today.

So I got to go golfing:-)
