That is not what I said. The fabs currently being built for
8" manufacturing will probably be completed but I think that
any major future fab designs past '98 will be built for 300mm.
Micron delayed their Lehi,Utah fab last year due to industry
weakness and low dram prices. Intel is delaying its
Fort Worth fab for 1-2 years(at least) and will likely
re-design it for 300mm.

Short term (2-9 months) we will likely see other delays or
push outs as the industry consolidates and tries to improve
margins/earnings.

Niche fabs, with specialty product lines and little competition
will most certainly make money with 150mm and 200mm fabs, until
a competitor with more capacity/efficiency enters the fray.
