"And the money being spent in Iraq and Afghanistan is being spent far more wisely"

Oh, right. Given that the resurgence in the Taliban was because the contracts and oversight was so loose that they were getting a cut on many of those contracts was wise?

Oh my God. Now you are trying to sell me on the idea that money was spent wisely in Iraq? Sheesh, what are you smoking? Bush sent crate loads of US cash in planes over to Iraq with no one watching over how the money was spent or distributed. No auditors. Tens of billions went unaccounted for. The story of waste in Iraq is legion.

Now if you want to be fair for a second, exactly what legislation has Obama and the Dems enacted in the last 10 months that has caused deficits to soar so prodigiously? The answer is not much. These deficits have been caused by all the structural tax cuts, spending, and wars that Bush initiated and by a collapse in tax revenues to the Great Recession that he initiated and by all of the actions of the Fed and Treasury to pull us out of this hole. The only thing we can lay squarely at Obama's feet was the $800B stimulus.
