Thoughtful analysis, thanks. There is not so much idiocy here are the original foreign affairs group that is now over-run with liberal lunatics.

I can understand that in Hussein's world Sunni's were better off. Tariq Azzaz was not born Sunni, but became Sunni to qualify for the benefits.

Iraq was one of the worst basket cases of a society we could have chosen to deal with. There was kleptocracy, rule by fear and intimidation, bribery, official rape and so much more bad going on.

I believe we have made a hotbed for terror and self hatred a much better place. Whether the people there love, hate or feel otherwise about Americans they know we have tried to help them.

Of course those who were in power or in line to be in power would like to get back to power. For the 80% of the population that were in line to be used and abused it is a much better world.

But that's not to discount the historical hatred between Sunnis and Shia. However, they are both Arabs which unites them against the Persians, as well as the Kurds

Unfortunately the Shia and Sunni are muslims which makes them the sworn enemies of our Christian nation.
