I voted for our (R) governor here in Utah, twice. He's no longer the governor here, but is Obama's ambassador to China. He speaks Mandarin. For an (R), he's extremely moderate, and actually CARES about people.

I think I may very well be one of a very few people who actually does think for himself. Can anyone else on this thread claim to have been a Republican for 45 years (well, 27 years if you subtract out my first 18 years) prior to voting Democrat? That alone would indicate that I'm capable of changing my mind when the facts change.

Maybe what it indicates is you are easily swayed by charismatic leaders. When Jim Jones hands out the koolaid and says, "Drink up", what makes some people drink it?

There are charismatic people on earth who can acquire a following that will support and approve of their every action.

Everyone can change their mind; whether it is due to rational thought and free will, or due to influence from outside forces, that's a different question.

You abandoned a party that is wrong 50% of the time to go to one that is wrong 100% of the time. Not so smart.
