So according to you all the money our government spent in developing the Internet through DARPA was a not an investment.

It was a DARPA (then ARPA) R&D expenditure.

The Left has co-opted the term "investment" (AFAIK, this originated during the '92 campaign) to mean anything they want to blow money on, and that's how they confuse the public.

Call it what it is - spending money. The tiny investment that yielded the Internet turned out to be a great thing -- just as did the NASA moonshots. They weren't "investments" -- they were spending.

Now, we have Obama BLOWING money on installing DSL land lines to people so that Internet has become a "right". Outdated technology, wasteful spending, in the name of "stimulus".

Your position is so bizarre it is hard to follow.
