The price of a stock is always important

Remember they have changed the capital gains laws. You have an opportunity to sell your stock and avoid substantial tax bites now on your gains. However I seriously doubt whether any economic setback in this country that leaves the US government looking for money, will allow all of these tax breaks to remain.

It is a rare thing that you see the kinds of gains that Intel has produced this year. If you bought the stock before it split, in the 52-75 range then you have enormous capital gains. Holding a stock with a 100% rate of return makes no sense.

You sell it then buy it back when it returns to a non speculative valuation. I certainly think Intel is a good stock to own but not at these prices.
