I see that there was migration from there to Goa and then south to Kerala. We visited Indian friends in Cochin and they took us to a Jewish temple which had been there for ages as had the Jews of Cochin. en.wikipedia.org

That's suspicious; the people from north-west India living cheek by jowl with Jews down there who then migrated further and were no doubt doing some migrating all along from time to time [young adventurers being what they are]. That looks like a good miscegenation grouping. Maybe the dates are a bit off as those northerners arrived late on the scene.
